This classification is a safety-sensitive position as defined by the United States Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and/or the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act.  As a safety-sensitive classification, you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing.  Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening.  Possession of a medical marijuana certification will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana. 

JOB SUMMARY:

To serve as a Pool Maintenance Attendant this position will handle all daily maintenance for the pool and deck at Shawnee Splash Water Park and Woodland Park. The attendant will be accountable for sanitizing all deck/floor areas and vacuuming pools on a regular schedule inside the water park.   The attendant will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms at Woodland Park. The attendant will be responsible for helping with grounds maintenance in front of Splash Water Park and throughout Woodland Park.  The Pool/Park Maintenance Attendant may work when the facility is closed and must be able to work independently, without direct supervision.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

• Power wash entire pool deck each week using a daily rotation of deck cleaning.
• Power wash the breeze way and restroom floors nightly.
• Mop the concession stand nightly.
• Vacuum three pools weekly.
• Communicate with supervisor daily of supplies needed and additional tasks (if any) that need to be completed.
• Clean/sanitize park bathrooms daily.
• Powerwash park sidewalks.
• Weeding flowerbeds 
• Light repairs using hand tools
• Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

• Must be 16 years of age.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to work on feet for extended amount of time.
• Preferred experience with maintenance equipment.

 SUPERVISION - RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS:  None

 WORKING ENVIRONMENT:   

Work in this classification is both indoors and outdoors.  The employee is exposed to hot, wet and humid conditions and within and around swimming pools.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud in the pool facilities and quiet in the office.  The employee is exposed to pool chemicals that must be handled with extreme caution. This position requires ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours.  This position reports to the Aquatic and Activities Supervisor.

Must submit to drug screening and physical exam.
