Fire Stations
The Shawnee Fire Department currently has three stations with the last one completed in late 1999. The locations for the existing stations are Station #1 - 16 W. Ninth Street, Station #2 - 1401 N. Bryan Street and #3 - 306 E. MacArthur Street. There used to be a Station on 1223 E. Main.
The fire department had both horses and automobiles back in the early twenties. This is a shot from about 1922. The below picture was also taken in the twenties.
