After serving two years as firefighter, he promoted to Fire Equipment Operator and served in that capacity for three years. Chief Gibson promoted to the Fire Marshal’s Office in December of 1994. While serving as Fire Prevention Officer, he conducted fire cause and determination investigations, inspections, was instrumental in the adoption of Operation Fire Safe, a nationally recognized juvenile fire setter intervention program, and headed the public education efforts for the department. He also worked with the department’s clown program each year during fire prevention week.
