Welcome to the Shawnee Police Department's Special Assignments Division
The Special Assignments Division is headed by
Lt. Russell Frantz (Click For Bio)
and is comprised of the
Criminal Investigation, School & Community Officers,
Training
Section,
Warrants and
the Gangs Unit.
Criminal Investigation houses 4 detectives that
investigate all cases turned in to CID, maintains CrimeStoppers, internal investigations,
AFIS and polygraph services. School officers are placed at Shawnee High School, Middle
School, and Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech, as well as one Housing Officer for the city. Special
Assignments also oversees the Community Relations Officer position that works with our
Citizen’s Police Academy, Neighborhood Watch Program, Santa’s Kids, and more. Our new
Warrants position serves all warrants for the city of Shawnee. Last but not least, Lt.
Frantz oversees Training Section for the police dept. incorporating a mandated 96 hours
of training a year as a minimum.
