Support Services Division is managed by Administrator Chris Thomas. He has been with
the Shawnee Police Department since April of 2007. Mr. Thomas is a native of Long
Island, New York. Mr. Thomas obtained his Associates Degree and joined the United
States Army as a Military Police Officer. After completing his three years in Germany,
Mr. Thomas was hired with the Lawton Police Department in March of 1982 and retired as
a Captain after 25 years of service. During his time with Lawton he held many positions;
D.A.R.E. Officer, Crime Stoppers Investigator, Crime Prevention Officer, Patrol Supervisor,
Training Division Supervisor, Quartermaster and Watch Commander to name a few.
As the Administrator of Support services, Mr. Thomas oversees the daily operation of the
civilian employees of the Shawnee Police Department which comprises of the
Records Section,
Animal Control Section,
Communications Section
and Grant Writing Section. His areas
cover all communications between the community and officers including 911 calls, routine
calls for information, amber alerts, call outs, all Animal Control issues such as loose
animals and animal attacks. His area also covers records collection, data entry, UCR
reporting, crime statistics, grant research and writing as well as maintaining records
for reporting procedures, auditing and following local, state, federal and private
guidelines.
