This map was never actually used for presentation purposes but it is a prime example of simplistic GIS usage. The data for the map was extracted from the old Police/Court computer system (AS400). A cross-tab query was created in MS Access which was saved to a standard dBase .dbf file. The new table was joined to the five digit zip code data readily available from ESRI and a graduated color density maps was generated using ArcView by Stephen W Nolen. The general results was to validate visually the high density of outstanding warrants in the local area.
