First started working for the City of Shawnee as a part time Municipal Bailiff / Marshal for Judge Robert Jones while attending OBU. Joined the Shawnee Police Department as a Patrol Officer in February 1987. Has an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of the Air Force, has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Grantham University and holds an Oklahoma Advanced Law Enforcement certification. Graduated from the 224th session of the FBI National Academy in March 2006. Promoted to Chief of Police on 23 November 2008. The Shawnee Police Department became a State Accredited Police Agency in 2013. Chief Frantz serves on the Executive Board for the OK Association of Chiefs of Police and is a member of Shawnee Rotary Club.
Joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve in January 1985 as a Security Specialist for the 301st Weapon System Security Flight. Activated to serve in Operation DESERT SHIELD / DESERT STORM in 1990 and 1991. Activated again October 2001 for Operation NOBLE EAGLE and then assigned to 363rd Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron in Saudi Arabia for Operation SOUTHERN WATCH and ENDURING FREEDOM. Selected to be the Security Forces Manager for the 64th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron at a data masked location in 2002. Senior Master Sergeant Frantz returned to the United States and did a tour with the Air Force Reserve Command as a member of the Crisis Action Team at Warner Robins AFB, GA. Activated again in 2008, to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq as the 506th Air Expeditionary Group Superintendent for Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
Chief Master Sergeant Frantz retired in 2009 as the Security Forces Manager for the 301st Security Forces Squadron, US Air Force Reserve after 24 years of service.
