Patrol’s primary function is to provide continuous, effective, and
efficient 24 hour patrol service to the community. Their
responsibilities are to respond to calls of service, traffic
direction and control, traffic accident investigation, preliminary
investigation of crimes and incidents, enforcement of federal and
state laws, and local ordinances, apprehension of offenders,
prevention patrol, crime prevention activities, maintenance of
order, emergency services and much more.

 The
Shawnee Police Patrol Division units use a
mobile dispatching product to keep track of calls and
assignments in real time.
Integrated into the City's Computer
Aided Dispatch system the mobile product provides
bi-directional information flow to the participating
officers.
Additionally officers have access to the
local Municipal Warrants, weather, district court, and
COMPSTAT data directly in their vehicle.
