Solid Waste / Sanitation Collect

The City of Shawnee has a contract with Allied Waste (Republic Services) to provide for the collection and disposal of household solid waste and refuse. Solid waste is collected from each residence once per week using a automated polycart system. This contract was renewed in June 2006 for up to six more years. Residents should insure they properly place the Polycart to allow for full automated pickup.

Yard Waste (green waste) is picked up every Wednesday. Place your lawn clippings and leaves in trash bags and place them where your polycart would normally be for pickup near the curb. Tree, shrub and brush trimmings should be bundled securely together forming an easily handled package not exceeding three feet in length or 35 pounds in weight.

Landfill

Shawnee residents who pay a City of Shawnee Garbage bill have access to the Absolute Waste Solutions landfill. Residents may dispose of 3 cubic yards ( 1 level pickup bed) per month at no charge.  Bring your residential Water bill and matching ID.
