We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Aquatic Supervisor-  
will coordinate daily activities with the Aquatic Manager, and oversee safety and functionality at Shawnee Splash. This position holds the importance of maintaining a safe environment through supervision of staff and patrons using facilities. This position will be offering customer service to a variety of age groups.
Required: Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and Management experience

Attendant-  
this position will handle all admission and sales transactions at the front gate and concession stand. Attendant must have a friendly personality with firmness to uphold facility rules and policies. The attendant will be accountable for sanitizing, stocking, and supplying restroom facilities, front desk, and concession during operational hours.

Lifeguard-   this position has a duty to protect the safety of people in an assigned area. The Lifeguard has a professional obligation to prevent potential accidents by enforcing the rules and regulations of an aquatic setting and to react to any emergencies that may occur. This position will report to the Aquatics Manager or their supervision.

Lifeguard Certification Course

 You need to be of 15 years of age to attend this class.

 **If you are applying to work at Shawnee Splash or Oklahoma Baptist University you qualify for a discount. In your response to me (mentioned later in the email) please indicate that you qualify. I will verify, and send you additional information.  $50.00 new certification / $40.00 renewal

 The rate for new participants is $150.00 ---  for recertification $75.00

 *Payment is required to hold and reserve your spot for the course. (Space is limited) If you are paying with a check, please make it out to Shawnee Splash.*If you have a special need, contact the instructor before class, so that she can adjust the course where possible.

 Course Dates and Times:

 March 31 6:00 pm-8:00pm & April 1st 8:00am- evening & possibly April 2nd 2:00pm

 *Class length will depend upon how fast we can move thorough the material. It is possible that the class will not take the full length of time above. The book says the course is designed to be completed in 25 hours and 20 minutes; however, depending on the class, that is a long estimate.

Participants need to be able to do the following before the start of class

1.      Swim 300 Meters without pause using the freestyle or breath stroke (not timed)

2.      Tread water for 2 minutes using legs. 

3.      Retrieve a 10 pound object from the deep end of the pool, then swim the length of the pool on your back (object on your chest) 

*The 3rd event is timed. You must be able to do this in 1 minute and 40 seconds.
*Participants may take as many attempts as needed to pass the requirements. (Within reason)
*These events are here to ensure you are physically fit to become a lifeguard.
*Those who are unable to come prepared to class, or cannot complete one of the requirements will not receive a refund.

 Completion of the class does not guarantee employment. You will receive your Lifeguarding/AED/CPR/ First Aid certification upon the completion of this class. The certification will be good for 2 years beginning on the date we complete the class.
