Q:How do I qualify for the CDBG Program?
Q:Substantial Amendment to FY 2008 Action Plan
The City of Shawnee is a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated "entitlement" community. Each year, the City receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The Consolidated Plan is utilized as a guide to direct programming to be funded by CDBG.

The American Recovery Act of 2009 was signed into law by President Obama on February 17, 2009. The American Recovery Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5, appropriated supplemental funding for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). On May 5, 2009, HUD issued a Notice describing the submission requirements, submission deadlines and implementation requirements for CDBG-R funding.

The City of Shawnee has received CDBG-R funding totaling $106,896. This funding will substantially amend our FY 2008 Action Plan.

The City of Shawnee's intent is to utilize all funding to perform one (1) reconstruction and project delivery costs.

ADOPTED by the Council and APPROVED by the Mayor this 18th day of May, 2009.

Linda Peterson, Mayor
