I am from Vinita, Oklahoma and was raised on a "we do it all" family farm/ranch. Choosing agriculture for my formal education, I received his B.S. degrees in Agriculture ED and Animal Sciences.
Upon graduation I went to work for the USDA as a Federal crop inspector but desiring to be closer to the farm and family I switched to the DSRS to work with the retired and disabled individuals. From there I was recruited by the Social Security Administration to use the same skills, providing better pay and allowing myself to still be on my farm. In 1978 I was transferred to Shawnee, Oklahoma.
In 1980 I applied for and received my own State Farm Agency, and will complete 35 years of being a local insurance provided in December 2014. For 37 years I have lived in and loved Shawnee because of the people and the opportunities provided me. Now I've been given the opportunity to give back to the Citizens of Shawnee and I am grateful.
