ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO NOTICE TO BIDDERS
ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO REQUEST FOR BIDS/INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS FOR LEASE OF THE SHAWNEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY PROPERTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF HARVESTING HAY BY THE SHAWNEE AIRPORT AUTHORITY ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA
This Addendum No. 1 ("Addendum") to the Request for Bids ("RFB’s") issued by the Shawnee Regional Airport, Shawnee Airport Authority in connection with the lease of land for the purposes of harvesting hay ("Lease") is issued as of this, the 8th day of January, 2021.
- Question: Is the hay contractor allowed to clear small trees and brush to increase cuttable acres? Is hay contractor allowed to spray for weed control and or fertilize the leased area to increase hay yield?
Response: Authorized use of the acreage includes improving the land through leveling, removing of stumps, bushes, rocks, and other impediments to mechanized mowing; application of fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides to increase yield and the cutting and bailing of hay.
- Question: Must the successful bidder cut all 200 acres of the leased area regardless of the quality of the hay in the different areas?
Response: Yes. The leaseholder is expected to keep the entire lease hold area cut.
3. What are the insurance requirements associated with the lease?
Response: The Shawnee Airport Authority requires the Lessee to maintain during the term of the lease, Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance to protect the Lessee from claims for damages for bodily injury, including accidental death, as well as claims from property damages, which may arise from operations under the contract; and the amount of insurance shall be as follows:
Comprehensive Public Liability Insurance at the following levels:
Bodily Injury- Each Person $125,000.00
Bodily Injury- Each Accident $1,000,000.00
Property Damage - Each Person $50,000.00
Property Damage - Each Accident $1,000,000.00
The policies of insurance shall be executed by insurance of indemnity carriers authorized to do business in the State of Oklahoma and said insurance shall name the City of Shawnee, Oklahoma and the Shawnee Airport Authority as co-insured.
4. Acknowledgment. Each Respondent must acknowledge receipt of this Addendum No. 1, in the form of Attachment 1 to this Addendum as part of its Bid submission.
