Special Election on June 26

City of Shawnee residents will have an opportunity to vote on four Propositions at the Special Election to be held June 26 (see summary sheet).  Approval of Propositions #1-3 would modify the City's Charter to clarify when City Commissioners and the Vice-Mayor are seated and allow for the City to call an election by resolution.

If approved, Proposition #4 would raise City sales tax by one-half of one percent for 10 years.  The proposal would provide approximately $30 million for streets and roads, parks and other major public facilities, and public safety.  A complete project list can be viewed here.
