The Shawnee Police Department has officers assigned to bike patrol for use during special events and special operations. Bike patrol officers receive specialized training to operate in neighborhoods and combat criminal activity that may not be seen from a police car. The bike patrol officers assist with educating kids about bicycle safety by offering bicycle safety courses to the public.

We ask all citizens to stay aware of bicycle traffic. Bicycles are difficult to see from a vehicle. Help us keep pedestrians and bicyclists safe in the City of Shawnee.
