Mission Statement

The Parks and Recreation Department provides safe park services and promotes healthy lifestyles through thriving programs while strengthening the bonds of community.

The City of Shawnee has 36 parks including the Shawnee Twin Lakes. The department maintains 610 acres of green space. Our parks range in size and landscape, green spaces are expanding for open play. 

Shawnee's recreational facilities include the Municipal Auditorium, Senior Recreation Center, Community Center, and our state-of-the-art Shawnee Splash Water Park.  We strive to offer a variety of programs, events, and classes to a wide range of ages throughout these facilities.
