Our Crisis Intervention Team has received specialized training in dealing with the mentally ill.
The CIT officers respond and assist with calls involving mentally ill citizens. These officers are trained in methods of de-escalation when dealing with mental illness. The goal is to take an emotional situation and prevent it from becoming violent.

Our CIT officers not only collaborate with mental health facilities and health care providers, but act as liaisons between health care providers and the mental health facilities.
