Shawnee, Oklahoma, January 30, 2023 – Due to the collapse of the building located at 1 W. Main Street, and the need to keep the public safe, residents should plan for the section of Main Street between Broadway Avenue and Beard Avenue to remain closed for the next two weeks. Structural engineers have been retained by the property owners to investigate the integrity of the remaining building walls. Until the engineers’ findings have been reviewed and evaluated, the specific section of Main Street will remain closed. Boomarang restaurant management has informed the City of Shawnee that they have also chosen to keep the Main Street location closed until the appropriate structural information is available.
