PAY RANGE: Grade 12 $14.58/hour

JOB SUMMARY: This is a non-exempt clerical position. “Job descriptions may be modified based on City needs and employees may be required to perform functions beyond those described below and employees are “at will employees” in that either party may terminate the employment relationship with or without notice.”
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinates activities of personnel in gathering, cataloging, and maintaining police records.
- Assists in the completion and installation of police records; keeping and cross-filing system.
- Directs exchange of criminal records between the department and other law enforcement agencies.
- Operation and maintenance of Live Scan computer.
- Reviews information requests to determine if requests are in accordance with law and departmental policy.
- Prepares statistical reports and reviews for accuracy.
- Establishes records of arrests and record items.
- Enters data into computer system, answers telephone, and responds to requests for reports.
- Receipts limited amount of money.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work with confidentiality and interact with the public, other agencies, and other employees.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on occasion.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- High School education or equivalent.
- Knowledge of office procedures and ability to operate a variety of office equipment (computers, etc.)
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Criminal Justice Information Systems compliant.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous clerical/computer experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May be exposed to irate and hostile individuals.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations.
- Employee works in an office environment and uses a desk top computer, adding machine, fax machine, and copier.
- Employee is sometimes required to work outside in both normal and abnormal weather conditions as required.
- Employee is occasionally required to bend, stoop and twist when maintaining files.
- Employee may be required to walk up and down stairs.
- Some lifting is required usually up to at least 25 pounds but may be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED: Works under general supervision.
SPECIAL LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and maintain driving record acceptable to the City’s Insurance carrier.
