Shawnee, Oklahoma, March 27, 2024 – The City of Shawnee is hosting a Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday, April 20, for its residential utility (water and sanitation) customers. 

From 8 am to 2 pm, Shawnee utility customers can dispose of up to 3 cubic yards, roughly equal to one level pickup bed, into available dumpsters at the Central Disposal Transfer Station, located at 700 E. 45th St. The most recent utility bill and a valid ID are required for access to dumping. 

For customers unable to participate in the Spring Clean-Up Day, please note that current City of Shawnee utility accountholders may use the Transfer Station once monthly, and utility customers also have curbside bulk waste pickup available on their regular trash day during the first full week of the month. Construction and hazardous materials are not permitted during bulk waste pickup.

A list of acceptable items is shown on the accompanying flyer. Household hazardous waste can also be dropped off, with the exception of the following: ammunition, explosives, pharmaceuticals, biohazardous waste, radioactive waste and tires.
